Determination, patience and a love for research and learning

07

What are the tasks you do for work?
Learn all the ways to get the most out of Squarespace, whether it is with custom coding or using built in elements in a unique way

08

What do you love about Website Design and Development?
Being able to help so many clients and hear their audible relief on having a website handed over to them that is just what they were hoping for complete with tutorials on how to update it.

09

What are your first memories of the Internet?

Using a dial up modem and thinking that was pretty cool!

10

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?
I love the challenge of bringing a design to life in a way that will be easy for clients to update. I don't mind digging into the code at all to get the function that I want for my clients.

11

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding? Drinking loose leaf tea and doing calf raises!

12

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Minimalist. Modern.

13

Share your unique style, your design philosophy and/or aesthetics that appeal to you.
Minimal design that is beautiful and functional. I am not a ton of bells and whistles - but a fan of easy to use and update website for my clients. I provide these websites through my Squarespace Design Day service and often design an entire website in just one day.

14

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?
Scoping sections, managing background image widths, custom arrows

15

What makes your work standout?

My biggest goal is to make websites easy for my clients by setting them up the best way, making them super easy to update and using custom code to create unique elements and styles that clients are easily able to reuse.

16

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Jess V Meditation
Creating a clean fresh site with interesting elements such as buttons that spin on hover, image decors, split sections and tabbed sections

Kate Headley Photography
The client wanted a very unique website with staggered images and unique layouts. This was done on 7.0 so I had to use pseudo element positioning. Also, used sticky grid galleries for the press in print page, a vertical timeline for the About page. I also used the mega menu workshop.

17

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Learn how to scope sections and designs in a way that is easy for clients to apply. It's also helped me understand so many coding concepts that are specific to Squarespace so I can get the most out of it.

18

What is your dream website project?

Photographer, or interior designers with gorgeous photos and a strong sense of style.
