01
Hi! My name is Jess Hall and I’m a Web Designer based in Spokane, WA, USA.
02
Outside work you will often find me wrangling toddlers, negotiating allowances with my teens, throwing endless tennis balls for Rocky (the dog!), and fueling up on iced coffee while strolling the farmers market. Oh, and attempting to master a new recipe with my hubby!
03
But on a typical workday, I am usually helping incredible small businesses turn their vision into reality, jamming out to classic rock (think CCR!), collaborating with inspiring clients, battling the email beast, and getting creative with designs!
04
My day usually starts with "MOMMY!"
05
Most of the time I am working on making myself look cool online.
06
What are your first memories of the Internet?
You've got mail! AOL Instant Messaging. Learning basic html and css to make my myspace page look cool. And NeoPets.
07
What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?
The collaboration with the clients, hearing them talk passionately about with business, and creating vision boards.
08
What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?
Walking to the park with my kids, throwing the ball for Rocky boy, and dance parties!
09
How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Feminine. Modern. Vintage/Retro.
10
Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?
Slide-out Menu, Horizontal Scrolling Gallery, and Split Gallery.
11
What makes your work standout?
We champion creative collaboration. We understand the power of storytelling. A brand goes beyond visuals; it's a narrative that connects with your audience on an emotional level. We demonstrate an appreciation for the diverse needs of creatives.
12
What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?
Fromage Studio - My personal website - It's been an every-evolving work of art since I started my business in October 2023! I've been designing websites on Squarespace for about 8 years so I knew it was the platform I'd use - I started by finding inspo on Pinterest and instagram (actually found @squarestylist right off the bat). I've basically been building and tweaking my website every month. Right now I've implemented the Slide out menu, horizontal scrolling gallery, and movable blocks.
13
What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?
We don't deserve you, Rache & Team! You constantly give and think of new ways to make us better. The way my websites have totally been elevated since starting this program (and I haven't even finished yet) is insane. Thank you!

What is your dream website project?
My dream website project definitely includes interactive storytelling. Interactive elements could allow visitors to explore the creative process behind each piece, perhaps through videos or behind-the-scenes sketches. Imagine a 360-degree view of a jeweler's workspace
