01
Hi! My name is Katie Zana and I’m an Owner / Web & Brand Designer based in Byron Bay, NSW, Australia.

03
04
My day usually starts with cafe-hopping to get my social fix
05
Most of the time I am working on finding new ways to show you how cool my templates are.
06
What are your first memories of the Internet?
I was definitely quick to hop on the Geocities website bandwagon and I can report that my love of GIFs has remained strong nearly 20 years later.
07
What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?
Turning the vision, words and feelings you have about your brand into something tangible
that you're proud of. It doesn't matter if it's me doing it or knowing my guidance has helped you manifest it ⏤ both feel incred.
08
What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?
I need at least three different beverages on hand to stay put and concentrate on coding.
09
How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Maximalist. Feminine. Playful.
10
Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?
Any that make listed content fun and interactive ⏤ getting people to read words on a website isn't easy, but these sections are worth their weight in gold for their ability to help with that.
11
What makes your work standout?
I don't believe in 'blank canvas' templates. My People are hyper-creative, divergent thinkers who believe in radical authenticity ⏤ without a truly inspiring starting point, they struggle to start. I don't dumb my templates down for people, I start bold and facilitate you to make it your own.
12
What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?
COSMO Squarespace Template
First created a few years ago, she hasn't stopped evolving. It's an ode to almost everything I've learned over many years of working for small businesses and from a technical perspective, a beautiful showcase of Squarestylist codes.
It's one thing to design a drop dead gorg website, it's another to make it workable as a template; the coding is different. Every section choice has to be very intentional. I also like it to be a balance of both DIY-friendly and using layouts that aren't so basic like most templates are!
13
What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?
The depth Rache goes into when it comes to covering all bases from a design, learning code, the incredibly layout library and freelancing perspective, is unparalleled. Even if you're joining for one of those elements, you will get your ROI. I can't say that about many courses (and I've invested in ~a lot~).
14
What is your dream website project?
Unique brand and website creations are a real honour I take seriously. It's a truly collaborative process where I use my 10+ years of experience and intuition to bring your wildest visions to life.
I pair best with - what i can only describe as - 'New Era’ businesses. Those shaking up or remixing existing ones to make them better. IYKYK.
Sometimes, I’m also the person that super creative-minded, neurodivergent people need when they have a particularly bold vision to come to life that other designers haven’t been able to grasp.
