01

Hi! My name is Melissa Kelly and I’m a Founder of Go Bloom Creative based in Massachusetts, USA.

02

Outside work you will often find me making snacks for my kid, thinking about what to make my kid for dinner, cleaning up my house, imagining what it would be like to read a book by myself on the beach, and then trying (and failing) to get to bed at a reasonable hour #momlife 🤪

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually feeling really grateful that I get to wear comfy clothes to my job and help clients and customers who are making the world a better place.

04

My day usually starts with an overly complex coffee making routine

05

Most of the time I am working on new templates, learning new skills, writing emails and blogs

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

The sounds of a dial up modem (yep, me and the internet go way back) and how exciting it was to hear the phrase "You've got mail."

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

I started this business with a passion for helping therapists create their ideal business and for building websites in Squarespace. There is something I find so satisfying about creating in this platform-like it fits in the grooves of my brain somehow. I love how easy it is to add custom features and the process of figuring out how to bring a visual or interactive idea to life.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

I'd love to say I take a healthful walk, but if I'm totally honest? Pacing around my house, finding something to randomly clean, or a snack to eat. Usually I'm in a flow state if I'm coding and building in Squarespace (because it's my favorite part!), so I'm not always the best at breaks.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Modern. Minimalist. Playful.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Templates Masterclass!
Fluid Tabs
Mega Menu
Fluid Vertical Lines
Stylish Vertical Tabs

11

What makes your work standout?

I prioritize my user–therapists who are creating a website with little experience or design knowledge-and their clients. Those two groups of people drive me as a designer. I prioritize practicality and functionality. The visitors of this website may be under significant stress, so the site needs to be easy to navigate and ethical. Because I have first-hand experience being a therapist in my previous career I understand how to bring these elements together. And I also promote self-expression. I make my templates fun, playful, and "voicy" as a way to show that you can be professional and polished but you should still be you. Gone are the days when therapists are "blank slates," so your website can represent you and doesn't have to look like everyone else's.

12

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

I joined the Standout Squarespace program in October 2020 and even though I completed the program I remain in the community as an alumni because I see it as an essential for my business. It not only gave me the foundation for what I have today (smart, time-saving coding skills, design knowledge, business SOPs) but it has given my sustaining connections to other designers who have supported me and my business, as well as limitless inspiration for design and development and the skills to put it in place. What I have invested in Standout Squarespace I have earned back so many times over and I am forever grateful to have stumbled upon Rache's free CSS course back in the day! 🙏

13

What is your dream website project?

My ideal client works really hard, sees clients in historically marginalized groups, and doesn't get paid enough (because a only a minuscule number of therapists do get paid enough). While I still do 1-2 custom projects a year, my focus is on creating tools, courses, and programs that support therapists in having a website that feels aligned to their unique selves and businesses and remaining affordable and accessible.

04

My day usually starts with a hot coffee.

05

Most of the time I am working on strategic brand and web design projects.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

I am a true Canadian millennial, so my early memories include Napster, Neopets & MSN Messenger.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

I love finding creative solutions for complex problems. Laying information out in a way that is easy to understand, beautiful and compelling for its intended audience, and intuitive to use is a thrill for me!

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Listening to an album front to back, no skips.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Vintage/Retro. Modern. Feminine.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

I am always referencing everything I learned in standout, but flexbox was a real ah-ha moment for me.

11

What makes your work standout?

My work is always clean and intuitive, but I like to add something whimsical to everything I build-- something that perks your eyebrow up and makes you think, '"ooh, that's nice"

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

My own website is probably my proudest website build so far, easyoriginals.com. For this one my process has been a bit ongoing, since it's my own website. As I learned more about Squarespace, I improved my website more and more. Some standout workshops I used are: wavy marquee, sticky sections, split sections, and I also had to do some javascript deep diving to figure out the menu stick/scroll feature.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Scoping your work well and and keeping your code clean will save you SO MUCH TIME and energy, it will make things easier for your clients, for future iterations of the software, and for future collaborators.

14

What is your dream website project?

I do a lot of service-based businesses right now, but I'd love to get into more product-based e-commerce websites. Craft cannabis or distillery, a funky ceramicist, a slow fashion brand, or a fun kids brand would all be amazing to work on and allow for something really fun and different!

Dolcé
Dolcé is designed for the fashion lover who has a thing for clean and editor layout. It's clean looking, minimal and elegant and fit well with any purposes. For this project, I used balanced header, sticky section, logo changed on scroll and much more. Through this project and the applied of many many Standout techniques, I've gained my confident bringing my design vision into code.

Koni Design
This project is a migrating (with site redesign) e-commerce project from WIX to Shopify using standout techniques.

12

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

The biggest takeaways for me is how supported I felt throughout both of the courses. Before discovered Standout programs, I used to feel small and burdened with imposter syndromes. And that is histories now thanks to the amazing courses content as well the community I gained along the way. Now I can design and code with confident and hopefully I can further bring the positive energy to help my current and future clients.

13

What is your dream website project?

All of the most pleasant work experiences for me all have something in common:
They are open for exploration and ideation.
They trust me with my expertises and not trying to hand-hold me in every step.
They give polite, clear and constructive feedback with the mutual understanding that we have the same goal.
They set and respect a healthy collaborative relationship.

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Standout Squarespace is the backbone of my web design business, but the biggest lesson I learned is how to design Smarter. So that, apart from coding of course - which I had 0 prior knowledge of and is now essential part of my offering.

13

What is your dream website project?

02

Outside work you will often find me travelling the world whenever I can ✈️ but if I'm at home in Toronto, then you'll find me at a yoga class 🧘🏻‍♀️ (VIEW)

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually working from home at my desk fully focused on my to-do list 👩🏻‍💻

04

My day usually starts with drinking tea and reading emails. After that, I'll dive into my biggest task of the day.

05

Most of the time I am working on client projects! I normally have one big focus for my day so maybe developing a client's site and the rest of the day is smaller tasks.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

The first time I ever coded was for my Tumblr page and I was so proud! I found code snippets on the internet and cobbled them together to get the look I wanted for the page.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

The beginning of the development process because it's all about strategy and organizing (I was almost a professional organizer before I started working with websites!) Before I even get into Squarespace I look at the design and figure out my plan so I build the website in a way that functions best for the user and for the client to upkeep the website once finished.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding? Going for a walk! It's nice to take a break from the computer, but it's also when I tend to get my best ideas.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Editorial. Modern. Bold.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Resize Gallery Block, Video Block Aspect Ratio Fix, Customizing Arrows, Fluid Section Full Width, Scoping Fluid Sections, Image Decor, Custom Scrollbar, Custom Cursor, Anchor Links

11

What makes your work standout?

My love of bold websites with fun animations that are easy to navigate.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Veronica Rogers
Website →Veronica wanted to design the website and have me develop it on Squarespace but she is a creative director, not a website designer, so we worked closely to make sure her design ideas could become a reality in Squarespace.
Used Fluid Image Reveal on Text Hover, Fluid Tabs, Custom Cursor, Ultimate Carousel, Rotated Nav
This is one of the most heavily coded Squarespace builds I've done so there was lots of troubleshooting on how to achieve Veronica's vision within Squarespace and it really pushed me to come up with creative solutions. The code toolkit and community were such an asset in figuring out some tricky coded parts of the website.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Feeling confident and like an expert after taking the courses. The Standout programs are about learning code, but it's also about really learning your tool (Squarespace and Shopify) and using code to enhance the platform, design, and user experience.

14

What is your dream website project?

I love collaborating with designers and making their design visions a reality in Squarespace.

02

Outside work you will often find me cooking, traveling, planning something on Pinterest or finding the nearest open field to take my dog to ❤️

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually rotating between the same 3 spots in my house just to switch things up working from home 🤪

04

My day usually starts with the gym!

05

Most of the time I am working on template development or new marketing experiments.

Your website should be making your life easier by outsourcing your sales process, building trust, and setting boundaries for you.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

Making a website for my neighborhood friend group in middle school. We each had our own page and it's actually still up today somehow! I used to love making excuses to build a website for anything back then.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

Getting creative with the design process! I love the idea of creating a little online world beyond the standard website experience.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Staring off into the distance to let my eyes refocus...

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Feminine. Playful.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

The carousel workshops! I love finding ways to make the most of these sections and use them in new ways.

11

What makes your work standout?

I put a big focus on the copy strategy! I design templates that are made to help freelancers start building a more peaceful brand and get off the burnout cycle, so my templates actually include a whole website strategy course too!

12

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Less is more, but if you're going to add code - keep it organized and do it right the first time (for your future self 🥲).

14

What is your dream website project?

Since I design templates only, I really just want to continue getting more and more creative with these designs and seeing what I can do while keeping my work customizable.

Hi! My name is Nancy Hatt Larson and I’m the Founder, Creative Director of Hatthaus, a boutique branding and website studio based in Covington, WA, USA.

02

Outside work you will often find me traveling, wine-tasting and talking to random dogs on the street.

03

My day usually starts with coffee and pajama time as I ease into the day, checking my e-mail, planning my day.

04

Most of the time I am working on new website designs, brand suites and learning (always learning!!!) new techniques and skills.

05

What are your first memories of the Internet?

Early on, people would talk about "surfing the web" like it was this private club for the intellectually elite. But, like most things, it really is simply about getting in there and trying it out. I originally hopped online because I had recently moved to Hawaii and wanted some things I couldn't find locally, but Christmas and two little girls waiting for Santa had other ideas. Enter...the internet. Magic!

06

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

I love it all! The strategy, the design, even the hours of trouble-shooting to get the code just right.

07

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Sitting on the patio, the sun peaking through the trees, watching the birds, squirrels and bunnies play in my yard.

08

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Editorial. Feminine. Timeless.

09

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Slideshow counters, Fluid Tabs Grid, Blog List Borders, Stylish Carousel Summary Block, Styling Accordions, and Lined Header.

10

What makes your work standout?

Timeless and elevated while maintaining a fresh and modern appeal. So, like your cool aunt who is in touch with the times but also has the experience to get results.

11

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

NIXIE
Website →This was a fun one, inspired by trips to the local farmer's market and an obsession with flower farmers. I created an ideal client, designed a brand identity and jumped in whole-heartedly to Squarespace. So many workshops that helped, but I would highlight the organization thanks to the border workshops, the beauty thanks to the portfolio and blog workshops, and the impact thanks to the footer reveal workshop.

HADLEY
Another fun one, inspired by a close friend in the design world. Again, a lot of research in creating a brand identity and strategy. The workshops on tabs on hover, sticky sections and a side menu were amazing, but also the tips found in the community helped finesse every little detail.

12

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

This has been the most comprehensive and supportive course I have ever taken. The skills are taught in a way that I think most creatives respond too, and the support is like having a helpful mentor sitting beside you.

13

What is your dream website project?

Anything that evokes the spirit of wine country living, whether in California, France or world-wide. The people and products/services/hospitality that understand that quality of living with ease you find in these areas. Hard work, yes, but also an appreciation of the beauty all around.

04

My day usually starts with journalling/writing morning pages and reading.

05

Most of the time I am working on helping clients strengthen and simplify their website.

Strategic website design doesn’t have to be soulless

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

The MySpace era! Learning simple bits of code to customise my profile. Figuring out how to design websites in Adobe Dreamweaver. Not being able to use the internet if someone was using the landline phone (and the dial-up tone that came along with it!)

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

Translating mockups into a live website and figuring out how to create layouts using code

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Singing along to my favourite bands and having a good stretch!

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Minimalist. Earthy. Modern.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Stacked list cards, split sections, auto layout testimonial sliders, scattered images in sections,

11

What makes your work standout?

I take a soul-led UX approach to design. During the strategy phase, I help clients reconnect with their inner world so they can gain a newfound sense of confidence in their brand, knowing it's a true representation of who they are and not just what they do.

12

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

A big takeaway is that scoping code strategically is the best way to create a timeless and user-friendly website without needing to spend hours coding something new or innovative from scratch.
Another big takeaway is just how much is possible in Squarespace when you know how to code the Standout way!

13

What is your dream website project?

I would love to work with a yoga teacher, personal trainer or other wellness practitioners who help people prioritise joy and fun into their lifestyle

Seeing the light in my clients’ eyes when their vision comes to life. It's like digital alchemy—turning raw ideas into a cohesive, beautiful, and functional brand presence. Plus, I live for those "aha" moments when everything clicks perfectly into place.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Blasting some empowering tunes to keep the vibe high and the inspiration flowing.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Editorial. Bold. Feminine.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

I love the Product Slider Section which is powered by CSS only and the Shop the Look Section. I think both sections work so well with a lot of brands to showcase their products.

11

What makes your work standout?

My dedication and love for creating not just visually stunning designs, but also strategic and soulful brand experiences. I blend creativity with a deep understanding of my clients’ dreams and goals, ensuring every project is a unique masterpiece tailored to empower and inspire.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Valery Vain
The website for Valery Vain holds a special place in my heart and it was one of the first sites I build with the Esencia theme. We implemented several wholesale options; potential partners can fill out a custom form, wholesale partners can login and easily (pre)order the products and access products exclusive available for wholesale.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

The amount of knowledge that's shared is insane. The program is already very detailed, but Rache's support goes even further than that. She really goes beyond and beyond and is always willing to help and support <3.

14

What is your dream website project?

My passion lies in collaborating with those who dare to dream big and make bold moves – the game-changers in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle realms.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

I love creating web-strategies, sales funnels, and guiding clients on organizing their business and products. I want to be more than just a web-designer; I aspire to be a business mentor, supporting clients and celebrating their growth, especially their first sales, building their first online/offline stores, seeing how they attract investments.

Hi! My name is Niah Danks and I’m the Founder of Moze Creative Web Design Studio based in London, UK.

02

Outside work you will often find me running! I love keeping active. But I also LOVE food, so I'm often scoping out new eateries or reading new recipes.

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually listening to My Analog Journal on Youtube (their world music selection is amazing!). I am more productive later in the day, so I tend to start working in the late morning once I have started my day with a long run.

04

My day usually starts with a shower to wake me up.

05

Most of the time I am working on my own website!

Our mission is to be more than just a web design service; we’re striving to be catalysts for growth, providing invaluable support on your upward trajectory. With Moze Creative, you’re not just getting a website; you’re gaining a dedicated partner in your journey towards success.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

When my parents first bought home a PC, I remember using it to play games as a child. I was quite fortunate to have a lot of devices in my home growing up, so I am quite tech savvy now thankfully, as the world could not survive without tech these days!

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

For me, it's the process of looking at a design and translating it into code. Don't get me wrong, coding is very challenging, but this excites me. I find it incredibly rewarding helping my client's achieve their designs in actuality!

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Regular breaks to stand up and stretch, and always good music on in the background!

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Contemporary. Impactful. Laid-back. Modern. Bold

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Definitely Stick Sections & Slide Out Menu.

11

What makes your work standout?

I like to think I have a strong self of personal style and identity, so when I see another person/marketing campaign/brand/style that I resonate with, it excites me and I'm immediately on board with it! I try to take this into my work. In addition to the functionality, I always consider the brand aeshetic and target audience, carefully weaving this into the user experience I create on each website.

Secondly, a personal 'bug bear' of mine is a sub-standard user experience. Clicking a button that doesn't go anywhere or unclear instructions on how to complete an action on a website is very frustrating! So I ensure my sites are clear, easy to navigate and leave the user feeling good!

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Moze Creative Website →My current site is my second version so I have learned a LOT. Not only have a learned and improved in my coding ability, but I have learned the importance of keeping things simple. My current website loads faster and was created far more efficiently, which I am super proud of.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

The Standout programme is incredibly valuable to me as a web designer. The course reinforced the importance of continually learning, not shying away from making mistakes and showing the right attitude to learning!

14

What is your dream website project?

I have two (typical me)!

I would just LOVE to work with a music or record label to create a website for their events, products, a directory of their musicians. Something like that, as...I love music so much!

Secondly, it would have to be related to food. I'd love to create a website for a high-end, Michelin start restaurant, incorporating a reservations system and a menu feature with lots of quality imagery, and perhaps a 'Meet the Team' feature to help you get to know the staff.

02

Outside work you will often find me exploring wild and beautiful places along the coast and moorland in Devon and Cornwall with my husband (and business partner) and our three daughters. (VIEW)

03

Every day is different in the studio. Whether that's conducting research for brand projects, wire framing a website, drawing and illustrating, creating a brand identity or troubleshooting a piece of code. I love the variety that our work affords me and working with our wonderful clients. (VIEW)

04

My day usually starts with stepping into the garden to see what's growing

05

Most of the time I am working on brand projects or website designs.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

When I was 12 we got the internet at home. I clearly remember dial-up and the nostalgic pips and whirring and that awful feeling of the connection being lost when someone picked up the land-line!

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

I love creating simple, beautiful designs that reflect the brand identity I've created and adding something fun and unexpected for my clients.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

I love walking to the end of the road to see the ever evolving coastal landscape, and dip my toes in the sea. A change of scenery and reconnecting with nature can often shift my perspective and help my creative juices flow.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Modern. Editorial. Refined.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Split sections, managing the header and footer areas, javascript workshops, creating timelines,

11

What makes your work standout?

Our work is strategic and personable. We ensure that we delve into the goals and aims of our clients and really think through the needs of the website users. We work with a copywriter on all projects to really ensure our clients tell their story and present their brand in the most compelling way.

Our goal is to create beautiful websites that match what the client wishes to achieve for their business.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Georgia Lindsay Garden Designer
I used grids to create a standout planting guide which adjusts for different screen breaks. it also has some Java Script that matches her branding on her portfolio page which swaps from a list to a visual view via a toggle. I learnt to keep things simple and not to add too many features to the site.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

Choose a few features and repeat these throughout the site. Too many features complicate the site and trip up the site-user. It also makes it feel complicated for the client to update and manage.

It's great to be able to look at websites and take inspiration and find a way of creating it on Squarespace websites. Many amazing things can be coded and created on Squarespace sites with a little imagination and the support of the Standout Community.

14

What is your dream website project?

Working for a perfume brand and think through how to evoke the senses through the digital experience.

Hi! My name is Katie Zana and I’m an Owner / Web & Brand Designer based in Byron Bay, NSW, Australia.

02

Outside work you will often find me taking my beloved Great Dane, Baloo, out in nature, Sending podcast-length voice notes to one of my besties, and probably doing something witchy. (VIEW)

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually recording my screen for template support requests riddled with Aussie slang and Dad jokes, spending far too long on designing an Instagram reel or post and working on 'my babies' 9MANIFEST and COSMO templates) (VIEW)

04

My day usually starts with cafe-hopping to get my social fix

05

Most of the time I am working on finding new ways to show you how cool my templates are.

I’m an O.G. template designer who *loves* helping solopreneurs DIY authentic, clever, fun-first websites to meaningfully connect with Their People ™️.

I have COSMO Template for Squarespace and MANIFEST Theme for Shopify. Both come with support directly from me and a library of bite-sized tutorials for your template, Squarespace, DIY-ing your own branding, plus the coolest Flodesk Email template you’ve ever seen.

Custom, intuitive brand and web designs are a special offering available a few times on a flat rate for aligned clients - just ask me ☻

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

I was definitely quick to hop on the Geocities website bandwagon and I can report that my love of GIFs has remained strong nearly 20 years later.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

Turning the vision, words and feelings you have about your brand into something tangible
that you're proud of. It doesn't matter if it's me doing it or knowing my guidance has helped you manifest it ⏤ both feel incred.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

I need at least three different beverages on hand to stay put and concentrate on coding.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Maximalist. Feminine. Playful.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Any that make listed content fun and interactive ⏤ getting people to read words on a website isn't easy, but these sections are worth their weight in gold for their ability to help with that.

11

What makes your work standout?

I don't believe in 'blank canvas' templates. My People are hyper-creative, divergent thinkers who believe in radical authenticity ⏤ without a truly inspiring starting point, they struggle to start. I don't dumb my templates down for people, I start bold and facilitate you to make it your own.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

COSMO Squarespace Template
First created a few years ago, she hasn't stopped evolving. It's an ode to almost everything I've learned over many years of working for small businesses and from a technical perspective, a beautiful showcase of Squarestylist codes.

It's one thing to design a drop dead gorg website, it's another to make it workable as a template; the coding is different. Every section choice has to be very intentional. I also like it to be a balance of both DIY-friendly and using layouts that aren't so basic like most templates are!

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

The depth Rache goes into when it comes to covering all bases from a design, learning code, the incredibly layout library and freelancing perspective, is unparalleled. Even if you're joining for one of those elements, you will get your ROI. I can't say that about many courses (and I've invested in ~a lot~).

14

What is your dream website project?

Unique brand and website creations are a real honour I take seriously. It's a truly collaborative process where I use my 10+ years of experience and intuition to bring your wildest visions to life.

I pair best with - what i can only describe as - 'New Era’ businesses. Those shaking up or remixing existing ones to make them better. IYKYK.

Sometimes, I’m also the person that super creative-minded, neurodivergent people need when they have a particularly bold vision to come to life that other designers haven’t been able to grasp.

04

My day usually starts with meditation and movement… and coffee. My morning rituals are important to keep me grounded and energized throughout the day.

05

Most of the time I am working on a new branding project, or supporting clients as they grow their brand into all the touchpoints.

Distinctive, deeply grounded visuals that make your people *feel something.*

Behind every brand there’s a story – and behind every story there’s a person with passion, purpose, and heart. By leveraging the power of design, your unique story can be told in a way that resonates with your community and inspires them to *feel.*

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

Making my first Geocities website, which was all about my middle school love of ballet.

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

Seeing the joy in my client’s faces when they realize their hard work has paid off, and their website really truly resonates with their work and with their people.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Handstands — seriously! Turning my world upside down (literally) does wonders to reset my mind and refresh my perspective.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Earthy. Subtle. Textured.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Mega Menu, Fluid Tabs

11

What makes your work standout?

I’m a big fan of the subtleties of design. I love using grainy textures, muted colors, gorgeous fonts, and minimal yet skilled layouts to serve as an understated backdrop, letting the story speak the loudest.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Sarah Fischer Yoga
Website →Sarah Fischer is a yoga teacher and life coach who was looking to bridge these two paths into one cohesive brand and website. Like all of my brand + web projects, we began with an in-depth Clarity phase to articulate her purpose, her ideal client, and really understand the things that make her approach distinctive. From there I designed a visual identity that is grounded yet vibrant, and showcases a touch of the mystical which she values so deeply. Sarah worked with a copywriter and photographer, and together we created a map for her website, ensuring we were serving the needs of her yoga clients, her coaching clients, and also showing how those two are complementary offerings. The result is a beautifully cohesive website where Sarah can offer easy access to her classes and retreats, simple ways to connect, clear invitations to mentorship for yoga teachers, on-demand access to yoga practices, and so much more.

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

I’m grateful to have been taught ways to amplify my coding ability and make my designs come to life in interactive, exciting ways. I’ve always loved being a brand designer, but the skills I’ve learned in Standout have allowed me to take what I’ve designed and put a website together that not only tells a unique story, but is crafted with intention and strategy, so it can be beautiful *and* effective.

14

What is your dream website project?

I’d love to create a comprehensive brand and website for a holistic retreat center.

02

03

But on a typical workday, I am usually in my office space. (VIEW)

04

My day usually starts with a hearty breakfast and a walk to the office.

05

Most of the time I am working on Squarespace website designs for small businesses.

Websites should do more than look pretty.
I want you to walk away from our time together with a strategic website that reflects your business, that connects with your ideal customer and, ultimately, helps to grow your business.

06

What are your first memories of the Internet?

I would call myself an elder millennial so my first internet memories include dial-up internet, MSN messenger and customising my MySpace page with code!

07

What is the best part about the process of building websites for you?

I love learning about my client's businesses so we can really figure out how a website can work for their business to make their life easier. My second favourite thing is getting stuck into website customisations to make their website really unique.

08

What is your favorite stretch or pastime in between coding?

Whilst I have my head in code, I like to to listening to a true crime podcast or my favourite mid-00's pop-punk playlist.

09

How would you describe your Standout Style in 2-3 words? Modern. Playful. Feminine.

10

Which Standout workshops do you find yourself incorporating most often on your website projects?

Any workshop which allows greater customisation and utilisation of List Sections is my favourite and most used. This is because it's such an easy interface on the back end for clients to use, and with some creativity, these section types can look great.

11

What makes your work standout?

My goal when working on a website is to make a difference for the business I am working with. Having a site that they are visually happy with and proud to share is very important but the functionality of a site is always my number one focus.

12

What are some of your proudest works you've worked on?

Wild WordsmithWebsite →One website I am really proud of is for a copywriting business called the Wild Wordsmith. This project required us to take a lot of existing content and create a site that is easy to navigate around whilst still staying true to the branding.
I used many Standout Squarespace workshops to build a space that is both calming and engaging for the viewer.
These included:
- rotating elements
- hover effects
- scrolling text
- split sections with flexbox
- list section customisations
- sticky sections
- megamenu

13

What are the biggest takeaways from the Standout programs?

I now have the confidence and freedom to design solutions that best suit the needs of the business, without thinking first about the 'limitations' of Squarespace.

14

What is your dream website project?

I love working with creative small businesses or small online shops.
